When exporting data that contains dashes or forward slashes from the MarketPush, we've found that Excel automatically converts certain data into dates, causing a change in the cell value. For example, if the cell originally contains "6-3460," it will be exported as "6/1/3460."
To ensure the correct import of your product template, you need to adjust the format of the column(s) that contain the product or manufacturing part number from "General" to "Text" in Excel.
If you have already imported the file without updating the column format as mentioned above, you can follow these step-by-step instructions:
- Navigate to the Products Page
- Click on the Download Offer Template button
- Open a new blank Excel spreadsheet.
- Click to the Data tab in ribbon banner selection
- On the far left corner of your Excel spreadsheet, click on "Get Data (Power Query)" as shown below
- A new screen called "Choose Data Source" will appear
- Select the "Text/CSV" option, as shown below.
- Another screen titled "Connect to Data Source" will pop up. Click on the "Browse" button and select the downloaded file
- Once the file name displays on the screen next to the Browse button, in the lower right corner, click the "Next" button in the lower right corner
- A Preview of the file will open. Click the "Transform Data" button in the lower right corner of the spreadsheet next to the "Load" button
- The Power Query Editor for the file will be displayed. In the top left corner of the spreadsheet, under the home button, click on "Close & Load" as shown below
- Your spreadsheet will now open and display the correct cell data as originally entered when importing your product and/or offer spreadsheet.
