Determining When an Offer is Active

Modified on Tue, Jun 6, 2023 at 9:03 AM

How can I determine if an offer is active or not?

To determine the status of an offer, you need to consider several factors. An offer is considered active when all of the following conditions are met:

  1. The product is active: The product associated with the offer must be in an active state. If the product is no longer available or has been discontinued (i.e., Archived), the offer is not considered active.
  2. Store status is Open: The store where the offer is available must be in an Open state. If the store is Closed or temporarily unavailable, the offer is not considered active.
  3. Quantity > 0: The offer should have a quantity greater than zero. If the quantity of the product offered is zero or depleted, the offer is not considered active.
  4. The current date falls within the Availability date range: The offer must specify a date range during which it is available. The current date must be within this specified range for the offer to be considered active. However, if the availability date range is left blank, this condition is automatically considered TRUE, and the offer is considered active at all times.

Please note that all of these conditions must be satisfied simultaneously for an offer to be considered active. If any of these conditions are not met, the offer will be deemed inactive.

What happens if any of the conditions for an active offer are not met?

If any of the conditions mentioned above are not met, the offer will be considered inactive. This means that the offer is not currently available to customers, and they will not be able to purchase the product under that specific offer.

Can an offer be active even if the availability date is not specified?

Yes, an offer can still be active even if the availability date is not specified. When the availability date is left blank, it is automatically considered TRUE, and the offer is considered active at all times, as long as the other conditions are met.

What should I do if I encounter an inactive offer?

If you come across an inactive offer, it means that the conditions for the offer to be active are not currently met. In most cases, you may need to just update your stock quantity available.

Can I rely solely on the current date to determine offer availability?

No, relying solely on the current date is not sufficient to determine offer availability. The current date is just one factor among the conditions mentioned above. To accurately determine the status of an offer, you need to consider all the conditions together to ensure that the offer is active.
