When sellers upload their product listings, you may encounter inconsistent variations of the same manufacturer name. For example, sellers might upload Win Supply, Win Suppy, Inc, and Winsupply for the same company, when it should be Winsupply Inc. To ensure your e-commerce site displays accurate and consistent manufacturer names, it’s important to standardize these entries.

By managing manufacturer names, you can set up the system to automatically correct any variations in the future. This avoids confusion and duplication on your website.

Failing to manage manufacturer names can lead to inconsistent and duplicate entries on your site, which may confuse customers and harm your site’s credibility.

Follow These Steps to Manage Manufacturer Names:

1. Enable the Manufacturer Name Management Feature

• Email support@marketpush.com to request that the Manage Manufacturer Names feature be turned on for your tenant.

2. Access Manufacturer Name Management

• Once the feature is confirmed, go to your profile icon in the top right corner, select Settings, and click on Manage Manufacturer Names.

3. Identify Unverified Names

• In the Manage Manufacturer Names table, look for entries that have False in the Verified column. These are manufacturer names that need to be reviewed and corrected.

4. Determine the Correct Manufacturer Name

• For each unverified entry, decide on the correct, standardized name that should be displayed on your site.

5. Correct the Name and Add Variations

• Click the three dots under the Actions column next to the entry you want to update and select Edit.
• In the pop-up, enter the Correct Name and the Variation (the incorrect or alternative version submitted by the seller).
• Click Save to apply your changes.

6. Add Multiple Variations

• If there are multiple incorrect versions of the same manufacturer name, each variation must be added as a separate entry. Repeat the process for each variation to ensure they are all automatically corrected.

7. Preemptively Add Manufacturer Names

• To stay ahead, you can manually add manufacturer names and their variations before product imports. Just click the Add Manufacturer Name button in the top right corner of the screen and fill in the details.
